Day One
Thought I'd get a jump start on this blog.- This is my first picture with Kenneth. I realize my eyes might look kind of creepy, but they're not the first thing I notice. It's the little 4 pound 15 ounce baby in my arms.
- I got really sick after I had him. There's are few things worse than not being able to take care of your own baby because you're just so sick you can't. I couldn't do much for him for the first couple months of his life. My family came through for me in so many ways and I'm forever grateful for them and that they did that for me.
- I really like to online shop now. I mean, it's mainly to try and find the best deals on baby stuff, but still it's shopping. Amazon mom is a great program.
- I make lists for everything. I divide those lists into categories. For example, when I pack I sub-categorize into: clothes, toiletries, and stuff. When I make a grocery list I put the number of the aisle the item is in beside it. I put a star beside the item if I have a coupon for it. Marcus used to tease me about it but now he makes lists too.
- I got a kindle for Christmas this year and I love it.
- I am thoroughly addicted to facebook. I kind of miss the days when only college students could be on it, but I really love that my family can see pictures of Kenneth on a more regular basis.
- I think becoming a parent makes you appreciate your parents and all they did for you much more. The long nights, dirty diapers, washing bottles, and I'm only six months in :-)
- I have been blessed with two fantastic parents who I love very much. I always miss them.
- I always miss my brother too. He is one of the most remarkable people I know.
- I'm gonna have to talk about Kenneth some more now. He is growing so quickly. I don't know how my little boy who was in preemie clothes for almost a month is now wearing nine month clothes when he's not even seven months old yet.
- He's always so happy, except for when he's hungry and sleepy. But, I'm kind of grumpy when I'm hungry or sleepy so I don't think much of it.
- Washing bottles is one of my least favorite things to do. Oh well...
- I really like to read to him but he's in this phase where he wants to put everything in his mouth including the books I'm trying to read to him.
- I always swore my child would never have an explosive diaper or throw up on anyone. He'd be way too perfect to do that. He's done both. Lots of times. I think the worst have been on our way to the beach with my Aunt Cathy and the time he projectile vomited on my cousin Sarah.
- Being a parent is nothing like what I thought it would be. Marcus and I have both talked about this and we completely agree. I once heard it's the hardest job you'll every love. That sounds kind of cliche, but it's completely true.
